I am trying to install and openldap client on a server running opensolaris 2009.06. The openldap package is installed and configured to the point that getent passwd will show all of the ldap users. However if you try and ssh into the server you are not allowed to login unless you have a local account. I was not sure if openldap is ussing pam for authentication. I looked around and tried to find some examples of a /etc/pam.conf but could not find anything.
My other problem is that if I wanted to go check the authlog to see if the server was able to communicate with the ldap server I can not, that file is not being written too and I am not sure how to get that running. anyone have any ideas here?
