Hello,

My general question is there a way to use Keyboard Layout Variants with Input
Method Switcher?
Available Languages/Scripts menu from the Preferences Editor shows only base
Keyboard Layouts.
There is no way to choose any Variant of a given Layout.
Calling setxkbmap directly doing part of a job for Local Gnome Sessions and
Remote XDMCP.
For example: setxkbmap us,bg -variant ",phonetic" -option "grp:shifts_toggle"
is doing the job,
but with xvnc remote session there is something wrong.
The Input Method Switcher is working in both cases Local and Remote Session
(XDMCP, VNC),
but unfortunatelly I can choose only the base Keyboard Layout, and not phonetic
Variant.

So how can I use Variants with Input Method Switcher,
and if it is not possible, what is the workaround specificaly for remote
environment with VNC?

Most of the Keyboard Layouts have Variants and many people use those Variants.
Its very strange that Input Method Switcher has no property configuration for
Variants.
As I remember the same tool in KDE has Variants chooser definetely.
