I've done this on solaris 10 on sparc however this new host is an x86 ...

What I want to do is to add a second disk to my host for redundancy - it needs
to be able to boot the system as well or any other host I install it into.
Currently it is hanging off my system in a USB caddy.

So - being familiar only with sparc, I'm unsure exactly how to set up the x86
partitions and then OpenSolaris slices in order to get a device to add to rpool
...

any pointers?

regards,
Malcolm
