I have a slight complaint to make about OpenSol's Vbox integration!
Ok it can be sorted with the correct analysis so I'm not gona whine too
much about it, but instead hope that someone with experience has a fix
for it :-)
Well..... I have tried to use OpenSol snv 111b {stable} with Vbox but
upon boot the utlogin screen goes black and nothing gets displayed. More
importantly when does this occur?? It started happening after I
installed updates on both the un-updated version and the updated
version!! Also after installing the Vbox guest additions.
I then had a go at installing OpenSol devel snv 117 which now after
update doesn't even boot, and just hangs at the blue OpenSol splash
screen with the orange bar moving, and the system not transitioning to
the utlogin screen....
I really wonder why OpenSol has become so problematic when used with
Vbox?? My HD install is perfectly fine and doesn't have any problems at
all.....
snv 99 was pretty good but somehow didn't update properly and the build
got broken, however I need snv 111+ due to wanting to test out the Sun
Secure Global Desktop software on it!
If anyone has got any comments or any advice I'd really appreciate the
help as the VDI image is being prepared for a friend who has become
highly interested in Sun's virtual desktop solutions: Ray's and SGD so
this is really for him to check things out! Also since he doesn't know
anything about UNIX and has very little English I need to do this for him.
