zebbe, I had a similar issue. I was able to resolve it by doing the following:
1) Close all open applications, including the terminal, gedit, and anything else. 2) Choose "Application -> Run Application" 3) Run "gnome-session-save --gui" 4) Log out and back in. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
