Hello,

I've just installed for a first time a OpenSolaris 2009.06 from a live cd. I'm
new to the world of Solaris, until present I've been using mostly Linux
Slackware.
So after the installation I tried to configure the network card of my computer
and to have an internet connection. I used the manual configuration because in
my LAN I don't use a DHCP server.
I defined an IP address: 192.168.0.44, an ip mask 255.255.255.0 and a default
gateway: 192.168.0.254. After that I added two DNS servers in the
/etc/resolf.conf file: 'nameserver 212.27.54.252' and 'nameserver
212.27.53.252'.
My network adapter is working good, I have a ping in the LAN, but when I try to
access the world outside of my home network, the ping tells me: "unknown host".
I don't have an idea why .. ? If I ping directly a real IP , for example
87.248.113.14 ping tells me "87.248.113.14 is alive".
May be OpenSolaris has something different about the network configuration ..
I don't know. Can someone help me with this ? :)

My hardware configuration is:
AMD Duron 1Ghz
Ram 640 MB
HDD Maxtor 40 Gb
Audio Creative PCI (ES1371, ES1373)
Netword adapter: RTL8139

Best regards,

Anton
