I am trying to install OS on an Intel-based system. I am using a Celeron 440 on
a DQ45EK board (Q45 chipset). I have 2GB of RAM and an additional PCI Express
sata card based on a Sil3132. This system only has USB connections available
for KB/Mouse. The latest BIOS is installed.

I tried to install via the 2009.06 USB image, as well as the snv_127 ISO image.
In both instances, grub will load and I am able to make a boot selection, but
after the kernel/copyright banner loads the system will lock up. There is no
disk activity and I must hit the reset button. I've let the machine sit for
several minutes; I am convinced that nothing is happening.

If I boot with the text console and add a -kv option on the snv_127 build, I
see that the boot gets through at least part of the PCI Express device
enumeration part before it hangs.

I've seen a couple of other posts with similar complaints - some going back
several months - but no resolution. Is this a known issue? What can I do to
help troubleshoot this further?
