Hi There, I was following the upgrade process from 2008.05 to 2009.06
I executed $ pfexec pkg install SUNWinstall-libs watched the process begin and walked away. When I returned I the machine was not responsive either remotely via SSH or via the console. I had no option but to reset the machine. 2008.05 Boot Environment (original) Boot process begins and then suddenly loops Opensolaris init exited on fatal signal 12: restarting automatically Because i didnt run the $pfexec pkg image-update The creation of the new boot env wont allow me to boot either. If I try ot boot it into opensolaris_satic:11:11:2009 it comes up with svcadm errors and gives me a prompt for ctrl d for system maintenance. So essentially I have two non bootable boot environments. I am using an AMD Athlon x2 which I have seen some issues re SES? assembler issues in previous builds. But this is said to have been fixed in build 28. I have managed to boot into the live CD for 0609 and mount the rpool on disk, but am now out of ideas. Any help here would be much appreciated. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
