Hi all, I've just setup a home NAS box using OpenSolaris 2009.06 with a 6 disk raidz2 pool, shared to my macs using netatalk.
It works great, except for the network connection that fails randomly during data transfer (can't ping any lan devices from or to the osol box (timeout), even the ones on the same network). It happened during AFP transfers, but also during SFTP transfers, so I don't think it comes from netatalk. The ifconfig -a and netstat -rn commands result don't differ from when the network is working, and the only way I can bring the network back to life is if I locally unplumb, plumb up and reconfigure the network interface (pretty painful for what is meant to be a headless box). Does anyone has an idea about the problem ? This is my config : OpenSolaris 2009.06 (snv_111b with latests stable patches) Netatalk 2.0.5 Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 (2.5GHz) 2*2Go DDR2 800MHZ Asus P5Q-EM board (using integrated x4500hd video and gigabit NIC) 6*1TB HDD (samsung and seagate) using onboard SATA in AHCI mode. Thanks. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
