I am having problems to reinstall the grub after installing the ubuntu 9.10 KK
when I start the pc load the ubuntu grub the problem is that ubuntu is using the grub2 so when I want to recover the opensolaris grub with the next process fails I have xp install first so opensolaris got the hd0,1 not the hd0,0 [u]boot from the cd c for GRUB command rootnoverify (hd0,1) makeactive chainloader +1 boot[/u] it boot ok but when I shutdown the pc and restart it goes to the ubuntu grub2 what I want to do is to reinstall the opensolaris grub to the BMR I tried doing the next [u]boot from cd open a terminal /sbin/installgrub -m /boot/grub/stage1 /boot/grub/stage2 /dev/rdsk/c0d0s0 [/u] but it fails it saids can not acces pd I am in su so my next idea was recover the MBR with the windows cd and the make the opensolaris grub the default with the first process so enter the windows cd go to the recovery and used the ?FIXMBR? restart the pc and surprise the opensolaris grub was the first thing to see and everything was ok but I do not know what happen????????????????????????????????? and why ?installgrub? flailed can someone help me so I can use the ?installgrub? command because ubuntu has give me so many problem I do not want to know anything more about ubuntu I only tried because opensolaris has some problems with ruby on rails opensolaris needs to run Jruby on rails and I am planing testing more ruby on rails friendly operative system please help????????????????????? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
