I tried doing a liveupgrade using the SXCE 101 DVD. No luck. I also tried using the following document to figure out what other packages should be updated: http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-9-72099-1
I then recreated the 2nd boot environment, but again liveupgrade didn't work. I then tried manually updating all the GNOME and xorg packages (as well as related packages for things like glib2, pango etc.) I wanted to see if I could at least get the latest SUNWfirefox working. At this point I figure I will have to do a clean install, if not this week at least in the near future. At some point I tried updating the SUNWlibC package, which seems to have broken 7zip and thus broken installing any packages that required. I was able to use luactivate to change the default boot environment, reboot into the 2nd boot enviroment (this is a nice recovery option) and run pkgadd -R ... to fix my missing packages. At that point I then asked myself why I hadn't just tried updating the 2nd BE with pkgadd -R instead of messing with the active system. Since I was in the 2nd boot environment (my generally stable one), I tried running liveupgrade to update the first boot environment. luupgrade -u -n solenv1 -s /mnt/iso And it now is saying "Upgrading Solaris: 43%" -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
