Hi When I tried to live upgrade from sxce 127 to 129, I had a load of problems (many usb error messages, disk timout errors), and opensolaris wouldn't boot. So I deleted the BE (and while I was at it, also deleted 125). That left me with 126 and 127. On rebooting, the grub screen has a black background, but it can still boot everything OK (hard to read which line is selected though).
The only other clue that I have is this pfexec bootadm update-archive -vn cannot find: /etc/cluster/nodeid: No such file or directory cannot find: /etc/devices/mdi_ib_cache: No such file or directory cannot find: /etc/devices/retire_store: No such file or directory I've tried a failsafe boot, and it seemed to want to update two boot archives in an old installation on another disk, and nothing else. Are these missing files serious? Any ideas as to how I can fix grub? In the medium term, I'll probably switch to osol os. In the short term, I'd like to understand what is going on and fix it.
