I am willing and able to do the research and work through the processes learning along the way as I build and use an NAS device but I am looking for a little advice before I start to make the process a success. I have a Dell Power Edge 4300 server w/RAID. It has been running Win NT4 Server and RedHat 7 in the past. I would prefer to make my first attempt at NAS without purchasing more hardware if at all possible. I suspect this hardware will work just fine and plan to forge ahead but wanted to pose the question of this eduated audience before beginning.
