Hi guys,

I know that this wireless driver is under development and still in very
much experimental states but how come I'm only connected at 1Mbps??

I am sure when I installed the thing months ago the site claimed upto at
least b compatibility......

Scanpci -v reveals this:

pci bus 0x0002 cardnum 0x00 function 0x00: vendor 0x8086 device 0x4237
Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 5100 AGN [Shiloh] Network Connection
CardVendor 0x8086 card 0x1211 (Intel Corporation, Card unknown)
  STATUS 0x0010 COMMAND 0x0046
  CLASS 0x02 0x80 0x00 REVISION 0x00
  BIST 0x00 HEADER 0x00 LATENCY 0x00 CACHE 0x10
  BASE0 0xd8700000 SIZE 8192 MEM
  BASEROM 0x00000000 addr 0x00000000
  MAX_LAT 0x00 MIN_GNT 0x00 INT_PIN 0x01 INT_LINE 0x0b

With wificonfig giving:

# wificonfig -i iwh0 getparam
    bssid: 00:e0:4c:bf:a8:7c
    essid: Cisco-open
    bsstype: bss(ap, infrastructure)
    createibss: no
    channel: 1
    rates: 1
    authmode: opensystem
    encryption: wep
    wepkeyindex: 1
    signal: 15

I know I have a really bad router which although claims to be N-draft is
more like chop-suey hence its name is similar! I am going to be
upgrading to a Cisco 877W soon which I hope will change things at least
in terms of router stability etc..... like in my other house I have an
857W which carries 9 servers behind it.

What's the latest news on this driver anyway?? Any developments or
anything as I can't currently connect to WPA2 with it either :-(

With Linux my notebook is fine just OpenSolaris devel stuff is a bit iffy.

Can anyone suggest anything or can I help in someway although not being
a programmer but I do have a laptop available to test?

Regards,

Kaya
