Hi,

I hope that this is the correct forum to ask for...:

At work I have installed OpenSolaris on a HP ProLiant ML350 G5 machine that has
a build-in ATI ES1000 video adapter. Because that adapter seems to be very
slowly under X11 (no hardware acceleration?) I'm thinking about installing a
new graphics card.

Which one would you recommend? Basically I'd like to have one that allows for
hardware-accelerated 2D- and optionally 3D-graphics under X11 and that is
suitable for
- development (Java, database, web)
- OpenOffice
Nice to have, but not necessary: Support for connecting a second monitor if
there's some money left in our department ;-)

As far as I have seen the packaging repository contains a package called
NVDAgraphics. Is NVidia the manufacturer of choice? Or better ATI?

Any help/assistance on this object would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Thorsten
