Hello,

I thought I was doing myself a favor by buying a too-good-to-be-true server off
of ebay, but it turns out it was; the processors (x2) inside are the Intel
Confidential version of the Xeon X5570. OpenSolaris has given me strange
processor readings from the start, e.g., reporting the machine as having two
single-core processors... with 8 threads per core. I also get strange messages
at boot to the effect of "... processor 1 thread 6 will be unavailable return
null" (at work, can't remember the exact error). OpenSolaris just crawls on
this thing, so I thought the chips must be bad, but to be sure I installed
Gentoo using X5500 optimizations and ran Phoronix... and got just the results
I'd expect from dual X5570's.

Is there any way to manually specify the processors' type and build options in
OpenSolaris, the same way that I did with Gentoo? Could I be wrong, and the
problem be related to something else? (I'm a recent convert from Linux, so I'm
not familiar with OS diagnostic options yet...)
