This is happening to me too, after a snv133 -> snv134 upgrade. Not sure why yet but here's how I get around it: When GRUB comes up, (e)dit the configuration and use the cursor to navigate down to the "kernel$" line. (e)dit that line and remove the ",console=graphics" at the end of the line. Boot the system now using "b" See if this works for you.
