I sure did... from building various apps I've found that some tend to pick up
gcc from my path even though it's after SUNWspro. So, I had CC and CXX set to
make sure the Sun compiler was getting picked up by configure, etc.
I unset CC and CXX, and things are building fine now. Thanks for your help...
apologies if I missed this in the docs, I don't recall seeing it.

Yeah, the nightly shell file (opensolaris.sh, unless you renamed it)
uses SPRO_ROOT & SPRO_VROOT to point it to where your compilers live.
It will build with Studio by default, unless you set the __GNUC &
__GNUC64 in your environment (see usr/src/Makefile.master).
Setting CC/CXX will cause problems with the build as you noticed.
Maybe I should make a note of that in the ReleaseNotes... thanks. :)
