On login I receive the following dialogue upon entering a JDS session:
There was an error starting up the screensaver:
Failed to execute child process "xscreensaver" (No such file or directory)
Screensaver functionality will not work in this session.
I have a checkbox for not showing this message again and an OK button.
a quick
#find / -name xscreensaver
locates the file in
/usr/openwin/bin/xscreensaver
I looked at the xscreensaver docs, and I can get xscreensaver to run and
xscreensaver-demo to run, but once I have a demo running NOTHING will get me
out of the screen saver short of sshing in from another box and killing the
process. It just doesn't seen to recognize my mouse or keyboard. I'm assuming
this is because both are USB.
I'm not sure what file is calling xscreensaver at startup. I have no .xinitrc
in my home directory and I'm a bit new to Solaris, any advice would be
appreciated.
