Hi!

I installed the lastest version of Solaris Express yesterday, using the
"Core System Support Software Group". That gave me a system with just a
csh and vi.

Then I wanted to install some additional software, but that was not
possible. The documentation for Solaris refers to the
"volcheck"-command, which was not available. Any devices specified as
CD-ROMs in "/etc/vold.conf" were not accessable.

So my question is: How do I install any additional packages after
installing a Core System?

TIA

That's an interesting question. I haven't tried this myself,
but I think the easiest solution is to use your install dvd
and "upgrade" the system to contain more than the core support.
Core is designed to be pretty minimal as you found out.

Personally, I never do anything else but install everything.
