When I want to use the web browser I could not reach e.g. www.google.com. I get only the web pages when I enter the IP directly. So this is a clear sign that I do not have access to the DNS.
>From other (Windows) computers in our inhouse LAN the DNS queries are directed >at first to our router 192.168.1.1 which passes them to the (unknown) internet >providers DNS. So I assume I have to enter the router IP 192.168.1.1 somewhere in the Solaris network settings as well. But where (CDE or Java Desktop) ? When I go e.g. to the Configuration Agent he asks me for a "suffix", Authentication type, Agent port,... Is this the only way of DNS specification ? If yes, what should I enter if I only have the IP of the DNS server 192.168.0.1? I need a DNS setup procedure translation for Win-Users :-) This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list [email protected]
