Unfortunately, that makes sense. "/" will get passed to rm directly, and can be read from argv. "/*" will get expanded by the shell into "/bin /etc" [etc], and then get passed to rm, so argv will include "/bin", "/etc", etc, and there won't actually be just a "/" anywhere.
