I'm not sure when this freeze happens... Is that before the installer starts to copy the packages from the optical media to the HDD? Are you using the GUI installer? Maybe you should retry, using the console / text mode installer, so that you're able to read any kernel error messages, in case there are any at this point during installation? > What can happen ?
