Intel 945GM graphics support was added to the i810 Xorg driver
after the 6.9/7.0 release, and we have not yet pulled it into
our official Solaris packages. I don't know why the VESA
driver wouldn't work - that would require someone with both
access to the hardware and far more knowledge of graphics hardware
than I - file a bug on bugs.opensolaris.org and one of our graphics
driver gurus can look at it.

Posted this on alt.solaris.x86 a few days ago, but so far no
takers :( It probably belongs here anyway.

Intel D945GCZ mobo running SNV_40. My ATI x600 is in the shop
so I'm trying to run w/the onboard graphics: Intel GMA 950(?).
I can make it work w/Xsun + XF86-VESA (VESA, not Intel VESA).
I can't seem to get it to sing w/Xorg. Xorg VESA gives me a
colorful stripe across the top of the monitor and an unresponsive
system. (Xorg/fedora core 5 _does_ work w/the vesa driver.)

Any clues? agpgart driver seems to be loaded if that makes any
difference. I don't really need this but would like to add it
to my web page re Solaris and the 945 chipset.

TIA,
Bill
