no problem

download the wget, openssl, common and pkg_get software.

install that on the box in question, the hard way, sorry.

then goto the machine with FTP access to the world and ftp down the whole
thing from unstable/%arch%/5.8/  to a local directory.  No need to mess
around with "do I need this or that" because you will waste hours of your
life asking that question.

drag down the whole boatload.

then move that directory over to the Solaris machine into someplace like
/opt/CSWdistro

edit the /opt/csw/etc/pkg-get.conf file such that the url points to

    file:///opt/CSWdistro

then run /opt/csw/bin/pkg-get -U

then install what-ever you want and watch as it all happens locally.

I will be shipping out a high speed USB key soon that makes life really easy
for this sort of thing and you can update it as you need to.
