> I have problem when Install Nevada (at least build > 43, 49) using external DVD driver (via USB).
It would have helped if you told us about the hardware that you're using (mainboard, bios version, what kind of usb device, ...). And it would have helped if you had told us in what way the install of Nevada build 43 / 49 fails. I do know that my amd64 box with an "ASUS M2N-SLI deluxe" mainboard (BIOS Revision 0202) fails to boot from the Nevada build 50 dvd from an extenal USB2.0 DVD writer device. GRUB starts to load, then stops in at the "grub>" command line prompt. Any attempt to read files from the usb2.0 dvd device from within grub fails with "Error 25: Disk read error" - for example a cat /<TAB> fails with "Error 25: Disk read error". I've been able to work around this problem, by building a custom modified grub binary, and building a new Nevada installation DVD using the modified grub. > I tried using Solaris 10, it' works. Yeah, on my ASUS M2N-SLI, I've tried Win2K, WinXP and a couple of Linux boot CDs, and they all are booting just fine from the external USB2.0 DVD writer device. Solaris Nevada with GRUB is the only one that fails to boot. The GRUB on the Solaris Nevada install media is also the only one that issues: 1. a BIOS "reset disk system" call 2. a BIOS "int13 extension check" call for the CD boot device When I remove both the BIOS "reset disk system" and the BIOS "int13 extension check" call for the CD boot device, Solaris is able to boot from the USB2.0 DVD device. >Is there any tip or trick to install Nevada via external DVD driver?
