AFAIK, bfu doesn't update the installed grub boot code,
if you're upgrading from a version that was already using
grub.
When you're bfu'ing from a very old version that uses the
DCA boot code to a version that uses GRUB, then bfu will
install the grub boot code.

Try 'root (hd0,0,a)' or 'root (,0,a)'
For root on a Solaris UFS filesystem you also have to
specify the correct UFS slice ('a' in this example, == s0 slice)
