Hello Ivan, Best wishes for 2007 ! The classical way to remote access applications under Solaris (and all *nix systems) is XWindows. XWindows is included in Solaris and all Linux distro. Under MS Windows, you should install an XWindows server. Many commercial implementations are available (the one I know is Exceed) as well as open source solutions (http://x.cygwin.com/) If X Windows does not match your needs, VNC is indeed an alternative. You will find VNC server and client for Solaris at http://www.softpanorama.org/Xwindows/VNC/vnc_on_solaris.shtml and I think RealVNC is included on the Solaris companion CD as well. www.sunfreeware.com is a good source to find precompiled packages for Solaris 10 Last but not least, I should mention Sun's solution to remote access, named Secure Global Desktop, which allows to securely distribute access to remote applications running on Unix or Windows. You can have a demo at http://sgddemo.sun.com/ and a product description (and 30 days trial available through download) at http://www.sun.com/software/products/sgd/index.jsp Enjoy ! Also I searched for terminal server solution on Solaris x86 and did not find any (on linux or FreeBSD I am able to run NX server from www.nomachine.com) . Pls., point me to any docs about installing vncserver on Solaris x86. And poit me to any terminal server existing for Solaris. Many thanks in advance.
