Solaris does not come with the proper drivers that work with that particular adapter. The driver it includes is outdated.
I had to download the driver from from SysKonnect: http://www.skd.de/e_en/support/driver_searchresults.html?navanchor=10013&term=typ.treiber+bs.SUN_Solaris+produkt.SK-9821V2.0&produkt=produkt.SK-9821V2.0&typ=typ.treiber&system=bs.SUN_Solaris Once I downloaded and installed that driver, I removed all references to marvell or yukon from /etc/driver_aliases, and then followed the instructions in the readme, I was up and running.
