Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
Just today, I set up some cronjobs to grab ZFS snapshots of
most of my interesting filesystems daily...if not more
frequently. I like the insurance policy there.
(While I occasionally suffer from fat-fingers, my kids now
have access to the server, so the priority went up a bit
there.)

If you do not have a backup, you can look at the command fsdb (file system
debugger) but do not write to the file system in the mean time as you will
reuse the freed blocks and not be able to restore your files.
FSBK is a long process but if you do not have a backup of certain files you
will be able to restore.
