> I tried installing Solaris Express

   What release ?

I think that any revision of Solarsi 10 ( or higher ) will want 512MB of
RAM as a minimum to install. I have managed to install Solaris 10 and
then remove RAM afterwards but the installer does not memory.

  Add memory

  or Install Solaris 9 ?

  its a tough call really.

also really tough to say given the few details that you provide. Suffice it
to say that installation should not be too painful if you use a machine with
512MB of RAM. To prove the point I run Solaris 10 every day on a machine
with 512 MB of memory. Sometimes I have ten tabs open on my browser. I
often fire up Gimp and I also have Studio 11 installed. Its not pretty or
really really fast. But it is really stable.
