It really is as simple as it seems like, it just takes a while to
complete. I think this is the procedure [1] I followed, but there are
docs on docs.sun.com too.

I had the same issue with b59 and after I upgraded to b62 the device
showed up.
LiveUpgrade is an excellent mechanism for upgrading your system to the
latest build.
