i added an entire disk to a zpool, some files get copied to it, i reboot my machine, and the machine hangs after hdd detection, i can't event get into the BIOS when i unplug the disk, the machine works find but complains about the missing storage
my only guess about the problem is that when the files were copied to disk in the zpool, the files got written to the master book record, thus corrupting it, now when my BIOS looks a the disks during bootup, its doesn't like what it sees in the MBR so it hangs is this a likely scenario? What i want to do is add a disk to a zpool, but tell the zpool not to touch the first 512 bytes on the disk. Is that possible?
