Hi, I ran gdb on the 3D apps and gnome apps which are crashing. The results aren't very helpful to me, but hopefully someone else will have an idea.
The 3D apps with problems all seem to be having a problem with the intel driver itself. They die like this: Starting program: /usr/X11/lib/xscreensaver/hacks/biof biof warning: Temporarily disabling breakpoints for unloaded shared library "/usr/lib/ld.so.1" warning: Lowest section in /lib/libpthread.so.1 is .dynamic at 00000074 libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x6f Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0xd081b6ca in intelInitContext () from /usr/X11/lib/modules/dri/i915_dri.so On the other hand, the Gnome programs which segfault are dying at libfontconfig.so (??) Starting program: /usr/bin/gnome-calculator (no debugging symbols found) warning: Temporarily disabling breakpoints for unloaded shared library "/usr/lib/ld.so.1" (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) warning: Lowest section in /lib/libpthread.so.1 is .dynamic at 00000074 Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0xce347eeb in FcPatternPosition () from /lib/libfontconfig.so.1 Incidently, both of these happen whether I'm root or a regular user. Does anyone have any ideas? Losing most of my GL programs and all of my Gnome programs is really annoying me. Thanks!
