When you install Solaris it asks whether to "Upgrade" or "Initial" option.
If you choose "Upgrade" option it willupdate the current running Solaris
packages most of your configurations & files would be preserved. If you
choose "Initial" then it would re-install the OS and your data will not be
preserved.
