Morning all,

If I send a mail to root I get the following;
pork:/ # mail root
test
.
pork:/ # Nov  1 10:00:51 pork sendmail[25070]: [ID 801593 mail.alert]
lA1A0pBV025070: Losing ./qflA1A0pBV025070: savemail panic

In /var/log/syslog;
Nov  1 10:00:51 pork sendmail[25070]: [ID 801593 mail.info] lA1A0pBV025070:
to=/var/localmail/root, ctladdr=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (1/0), delay=00:00:00,
xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=*file*, pri=31558, dsn=5.0.0, stat=Can't create output

If I create a /var/localmail dir then it appears that the message gets
delivered but when I fire up 'mail' the mail is not there;
pork:/ # mail
No mail.

(trussing mail shows it is looking in /var/mail/root).

Can anyone enlighten me as to what is going on here? Is this some by-product of
the secure by default policy? How do I get root mails working?

Versions are;
                  Solaris Express Community Edition snv_74 SPARC
220 pork.uk.sun.com ESMTP Sendmail 8.14.1+Sun/8.14.1; Thu, 1 Nov 2007 10:06:06
GMT

Many Thanks...
