Just so you know, the system never "reverts", nor does anything "change" during DST/summer time changes. All that happens is a set of libraries translate a unix epoch timestamp into a "local time", which takes care of timezones and DST. It's easy to test this without actually changing the time on the machine itself. > I am using a Solaris Netra to test the > roll out of Daylight Savings patches for a server > located in Tasmania, Australia. It's usually easier to just ask zdump when the transitions are. What do you get for: $ ./zdump -v Australia/Tasmania | grep 2008 Australia/Tasmania Sat Apr 5 15:59:59 2008 UTC = Sun Apr 6 02:59:59 2008 EST isdst=1 Australia/Tasmania Sat Apr 5 16:00:00 2008 UTC = Sun Apr 6 02:00:00 2008 EST isdst=0 Australia/Tasmania Sat Oct 4 15:59:59 2008 UTC = Sun Oct 5 01:59:59 2008 EST isdst=0 Australia/Tasmania Sat Oct 4 16:00:00 2008 UTC = Sun Oct 5 03:00:00 2008 EST On my system, I see the transition is an hour later than you seem to be testing for. I have no information if this is correct or incorrect, but it is the latest version of the database direct from the Olsen site. -- Darren This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list [email protected]
