Hi There,
I have a Dell OptiPlex 755 that causes a core dump when I try to install a full-zone. I don't think it has much to do with the zone operations and it may be more to do with the UFS layer or the IO layer; it's just that a full-zone (i.e. no inherit-pkg-dir) causes a lot of IO. Dell's site for this box is at: * http://tinyurl.com/2wu6jx -- INFO ABOUT MACHINE: * http://www.pastebin.ca/772653 SXCE b76 prtconf -v gives: * http://www.pastebin.ca/772654 -- INFO FROM MDB A rudimentary MDB session gives: * http://www.pastebin.ca/772638 -- WHAT I DID 1. Purchase machine 2. Install SXCE b76 as downloaded from links from opensolaris.org * MD5 verifies OK 3. Configure a zone: create -b set zonepath=/export/zones/install/full-zone set autoboot=false set ip-type=shared add net set address=10.0.0.200 set physical=e1000g0 end 4. Then: # zoneadm -z full-zone install 5. Then do "stuff" 6. The machine will work things out and then state its copying tens of thousands of files 7. During this copy, the machine will freeze 8. It then produces LARGE dumps in /var/crash/isengaard/ [my comps called isengaard] ... Could this be: * a bug? * a feature? Or am I doing something wrong?
