There is one more variable involved . the PCI vendor code and identifier must be listed in /etc/driver_aliases.
Run /usr/X11/bin/scanpci to find the graphics cards vendor code ( 10de ) and identifier and check if its included in /etc/driver_aliases. If it is not, edit /etc/driver_aliases and add the entry then do a reconfiguration boot of solaris .
