Another important but little-discussed issue when doing Linux/Solaris dual-boot is the synchronization of the (reading of) system clock. Solaris Express defaults to local time (zone), whereas, many Linux distros default to UTC.
There does not appear to be an option to adjust the system clock for Solaris Express during installation; thus, it may be important to set the Linux system clock to local time. If you must use UTC (time zone) as/for your system clock in Linux (or, more likely, are too lazy to boot into Linux to change it), you can use the following command: # /usr/sbin/rtc -z UTC to set your Solaris system clock to UTC. Otherwise, your Solaris time and the Linux time will differ by the lag time of your local time (which is 10 hours in Hawaii).
