Hi,

I try to install the last version of OpenSolaris (downloaded on 25-Jan-2008) on the following Intel Server Board:
Board Model: S5000PSLSATAR
Integrated SATA: Intel® Server Board S5000PSL (SATAR)
Enhanced support for six SATA ports at 3.0 Gb/s with RAID 0, 1, 10
CPU:
1 x CPU Server Quad-Core Xeon E5430 2.66 GHz
B574E5430ASLANU
CPU Server Quad-Core Xeon E5430 2.66 GHz (1333MHz,12MB,S771) Active Heatsink, box
RAID 1:
2 x 500 GB
HDD Server SEAGATE Barracuda ES 7200.2 (500GB 7200rpm 32MB cache Serial ATA II-300), 1-pk
RAM:
8 GB ECC RAM
4 x Server Memory Device KINGSTON ValueRAM (DDR2 SDRAM,2GB,667MHz(PC2-5300),ECC,256 x 72,Fully Buffered,FBDIMM 240-pin) Retail
Chassis: SC5299DP
Chassis INTEL SC5299DP, 6U Tower, Extended ATX, 7 slots, PSU installed 550W, Black
ROM:
LITE ON LH-20A1S Super AllWrite DVD±RW/DVD±R9/DVD-RAM //(DVD+R:W20x;/DVD+RW:RW8x;/DVD+R9:W8x;/DVD-R:W20x;/DVD-RW:RW6x;/DVD-R9:W8x;/DVD-RAM:W12x;/DVD-ROM:R16x;/CD-R:R48x;W48x;/CD-RW:RW32x;), Serial ATA-150, retail

The problem is that the logical disk after RAID level 1 is not visible for the Solaris Installation. I try to insert the provided drivers from Intel for SAS board but without success because my controller and disk are not SAS. They are Serial ATA II-300.

Can you help me to install OpenSolaris on that Server?

What I have to do to use Solaris Virtualization and to be able to run simultaneously Solaris, Windows XP and Linux?

Regards,
Miro.
