Thanks. Until here, I seem to be able to have no problems seeing my data. I can mount the updated slice (it even shows the nv81) on s4, I can as well mount HOME on s7.
So everything seems to be there. It finds the Solaris-grub, and there I typed (instead of the OS/2 - Rootnoverify as above): kernel /boot/platform/i86pc/kernel/unix -s and it will say [Multiboot elf, .... , entry=.....] module /boot/x86.miniroot-safe [Multiboot-module @ .... , 0xd352000 bytes] And it shows the grub Solaris splash-screen, so almost all files seem to be available But 'boot' will hang. I used your suggestion '/usr/lib/fs/ufs/mboot', but it doesn't. It shows a lot of strange numbers and backslashes, with some text in between: "not found-not found-not found- cant read geometryNo active partitionCant: not found" I should really start to understand the Solaris boot process, to know what is going wrong, and which file(s) seem missing.
