I have been having problems getting pkg_get to install using pkgadd as the
blastwave howto describes. I tried following the howto, and then downloading
the package with the same result: the package apparently is installed, but
nothing is actually installed. Here is the output I receive:

 pkgadd -d ./pkg_get.pkg

The following packages are available:

I notice the message about the stale lock file, but I am not sure where I would
find this if this is the problem. Nothing is placed in /opt/csw/bin, and no
directories are created. I created an /opt/csw/bin and /opt/csw/etc just in
case that was needed, but this did not help things out. Any help would be
greatly appreciated, as I seem to have run out of ideas and leads from google.

I occurs to me it might help to have the version of solaris I have installed -
Developer's Preview Indiana

[solaris:/root]$ uname -a
SunOS veryfine 5.11 snv_75 i86pc i386 i86pc Solaris

Also another couple of questions: I want my prompt to have a hash when I su as
root, and am not quite sure what file to edit, and how to shut the machine down
(it's just a desktop). I've been typing 'halt' into an xterm when root. It
seems like there should be some other way. Thanks very much for any help you
can provide.
