No  you dont have to build your own kernel  but you do have to do a BFU 
   to a newer Build.  

    BFU  is a  Blindingly Fast Update.

If you have  Build 82 installed ( as I have )   you can do a BFU to Build 83.

     As you see there   are   archives  for both Debug and non-debug installs.

  PLEASE BE AWARE that  the BFU process may crash and you system may 
 need a new reinstall.  Its a developer toll for fast upgrades.
