This is because "loghost" is missing from the /etc/hosts file emergency procedure is to add loghost to the localhost line. 127.0.0.1 localhost loghost >and i am not able to acess net thru my pc. What CHIPSET is used For the Ethernet port. ( intel ? , Marvell ? , Nvidia ? realtek ? ) Does solaris see the Ethernet port ? /usr/X11/bin/scanpci should report an Ethernet Device if Solaris does recognise it. Did you get any questions on Networking During Install ? If you did not get networking questions , you may have an unsupported Ethernet chip in your PC. If you run /usr/sbin/sys-unconfig The system will reboot and you will be asked all the networking questions again If Solaris does find a supported chipset. There is about a dozen unsupported networkdrivers here: http://homepage2.nifty.com/mrym3/taiyodo/eng/ Regards //Lars This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list [email protected]
