This is  because "loghost"  is missing  from the /etc/hosts file 
emergency  procedure is to add loghost to the localhost  line.

What CHIPSET is used For the Ethernet port. ( intel ? , Marvell ? , Nvidia ? 
realtek ? )

Does solaris see the Ethernet port ?

/usr/X11/bin/scanpci should report an Ethernet Device if Solaris does recognise 
it.

Did you get any questions on Networking During Install ?
If you did not get networking questions , you may have an unsupported Ethernet 
chip in your PC.

If you run

/usr/sbin/sys-unconfig

The system will reboot and you will be asked all the networking questions again
If Solaris does find a supported chipset.
