Hi,
I think you should run the Solaris Device Detection tool first to verify that opensolaris can use you laptop. On the opensolaris DVD you downloaded there is a directory named "sddtool" in this directory is a DOS bat-file "runsddtool.bat" which starts a Java program that will evaluate your laptop. and yes You need to have the JAVA JRE installed to run this tool. If sddtool says that your laptop is good for running solaris you need to make place for Solaris on your diskdrive. Solaris need a free PRIMARY PC partition with 15-20 or more gigabyte diskspace. If your vista partition covers the whole disk you need to liberate some diskspace from Vista, with a disk partition editor that shrinks Vistas usage of the disk. This is the best free tool I have found that can mangage PC partitions. http://gparted-livecd.tuxfamily.org/ This is the next best one. http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page //Lars This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list [email protected]
