Cool I just made it work! http://developers.sun.com/sxde/tech_faq.jsp#q_7
Has all the info I needed to successfully boot a S10u4 into grub for OpenSolaris! Following the procedure, I reformatted my whole drive with snv82, then I installed Solaris 10 from the dvd, specifying I want to preserve my snv82 slice (Since opensolaris for some reason doesn't allow me to edit my partitions before install). Then I added the stuff from the FAQ above, and Voila! I'm booting both environments on the same disk from the same grub. I also had to update the boot sector using installgrub to bring back opensolaris's grub as such : cd /boot/grub/ installgrub ./stage1 ./stage2 /dev/rdsk/c1d0s0 It works! whoohoo!
