hi,

we are having a bit of a problem trying to make b79b/xVM
(the last "official" thing) run stably on this board (GA-G33-DSR3).
Is anyone successfully using this?

(The computer seems ok, using a different OS and
various demanding test programs shows no problem.)

A few things were causing trouble.
First we had to turn off AHCI support in the BIOS
to make the VM bootstrap process notice that there
really are hard disks in the computer.
(The default SXDE booting sequence sees them on AHCI
and works, more or less.)
After a few more attempts we had a system installed.

But then, most of the time the display is rather
garbled, driven by Intel GMA 3100.
Sometimes this happens as soon as the graphical login
screen appears, sometimes only after login.

We then wait for the beep, and grow into
Pavlovian operators waiting for the reset that we
didn't ask for. Which implacably follows. We had a
few file system errors after a while.

Does this ring a bell?
TIA
