I'm interested in setting up my OpenSolaris box to serve authentication
credentials for clients on my home network (Primarily to keep UID/GID's
straight across numerous machines). I know NIS used to be the way to do this,
and suspect that perhaps OpenLDAP is the way to go. My question in, for a basic
user/group authenitcation server, what's the best way to go? Is NIS still worth
looking into? Is there something better that folks are using?
