I have first thought that maybe errors occurred during the build process but I don't think Install will complete successfully if errors occurred during the build phase (I will check that). What I would do is, first check that the build effectively went fine, second run Install with the -v option to have more information, third untar the new build on the machine I built it on and test it. That is all I can think about for the time beeing.
